THE FMR BY THORNMORE

With a 2.68 inch long N690c blade, the FMR liner lock knife is ready to tackle delicate as well as tough cutting tasks whilst remaining small enough to comfortably carry around on a daily basis.

THE STORY OF THE FMR

The FMR was designed for hard working gamekeepers and farmers

Having grown up spending a lot of time in the British countryside I began to see just how valuable having a small pocket knife could be for all sorts of different tasks.

The idea of the FMR was formed when out for dinner one evening. I was playing around with the idea of making a small batch of quality folding knives as ‘thank you’ for several friends who are gamekeepers. The knives would have to be able to withstand the riggers of being used everyday by my gamekeeper friends (a couple of whom are VERY heavy handed!) for tough tasks, whilst still being able to hold an edge that is sharp enough for delicate tasks.

A real emphasis has been placed on the materials used in the FMR; for example the blade steel is N690 which is made by the Austrian company Böhler. One of Thornmore’s first customers (who is responsible for managing a very large herd of red deer) has used his FMR to gralloch 20 red deer without sharpening and still raves about how keen the edge is!

Testimonials

Hear what previous customers have to say about the FMR

“It’s an excellent size for my personal preference. I love the deep carry clip and the milling texture on the G10. It’s not tearing up my pocket. The flat grind is fantastic.”

“Average or mediocre doesn’t cut it with me. I need tools and equipment I can rely on…It really earned its keep today.”

“I’ve had a Thornmore for just over 2 months and love it. I’ve done about 20 red deer so far and it’s still sharp.”

“I’ve been using it daily for all sorts of things but today I breasted the duck with ease. With a little pressure it cut straight through the wing bones and although covered in blood and wet it still held firmly in the hand. It washes off pretty easy too. Definitely proving to be a great little knife.”

“If anyone is looking for a new lock knife I can thoroughly recommend it, I’ve had mine for a few weeks and after lots of little jobs it’s still sharp as a razor!!”

“I love my FMR and although I am neither a Farmer nor Gamekeeper, I carry my FMR daily for my handyman projects. My Knife is now a couple of years old and is still performing excellently. I thoroughly recommend it.”
